Atlanta Office Imports Endangered Turtles for Zoo Atlanta
CVI was recently selected by Zoo Atlanta to assist in the import and clearance of seized endangered Asian Temple turtles from Hong Kong in cooperation with the Turtle Survival Alliance (http://www.turtlesurvival.org/blog/1/73). Debbie Forde, Registrar of Zoo Atlanta, contacted Donna Mullins, CVI Atlanta branch manager, to arrange the U.S. Customs and Fish and Wildlife clearances of the turtles.
CVI is honored to have been selected on several other occasions to facilitate the shipment of live animals for Zoological parks in the Southeastern United States. “These shipments have given us an opportunity to not only provide a good quality service to our clients but also participate in conservationism,” commented Mullins. CVI’s Atlanta branch has previously assisted Birmingham Zoo and the Little Rock Zoo and will have an opportunity to participate in the return of a panda bear to China from Zoo Atlanta in 2012.
