Extreme Makeover Home Edition Calls on CVI for Delivery Coordination in Savannah, GA
This fall CVI Atlanta received a request by Extreme Makeover Home Edition to coordinate delivery of new Ford Explorer to a family in Savannah, GA being featured on the show. This, however, was no ordinary delivery. The production company wanted the Explorer to be crated and flown to the production sight by helicopter while the show was being filmed. Never backing down from a logistical challenge, Donna Mullins, CVI’s Atlanta branch manager, and the rest of the CVI Atlanta team stepped up to the plate and got the job done.
CVI arranged for the charter of a Bell Helicopter, coordinated all necessary licensing, permits and insurance, and supervised the delivery operation. “This was a great opportunity to highlight our diverse capabilities as a provider of logistics services. This was not typical business for us, but using our years of experience and industry knowledge we were able to get the job done for the customer,” commented Donna. Donna and CVI sales executive Jamila Collins were on scene to assist with crating, supervise the lift, and participate in the famous march to the construction site.
“The icing on the cake was being part of helping a family in need,” stated Donna, “it was also pretty exciting to have the opportunity to meet Ty Pennington.” The show is set to air Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 8PM EST on ABC.
